Story Behind The Tears.
So today was like an epiphany to me. Here I am 7 o clock in the morning walking down the blocks of Lenox Avenue and then I finally reach my destination. As im standing there trying to avoid contact with the family members that i barely ever even met I see a guy, a familiar face. My heart jumps because almost immediately I knew who he was. I stared for a minute just to make sure. At this moment I had to think fast: What will I say to him? Should I say anything? Will he know who I am? After turning the corner which is where he caught my eye he stopped to talk to a guy so this gave me extra time to get my actual speech together and think over what I was going to say. So here I am anxiously waiting for him to stop talking to the guy that hes conversing with and then he does. He starts to continue to make his way down 128th and Lenox. I stare. not able to move. As if my shoes were nailed to the ground. I stare. Hoping to get his attention. And then I do. My heart still racing. I wait for his reaction. My heart drops because he turns his head forward and continues his walk. I just stood there with no emotion in my body. Then a rush of anger hurt and tears came to me all at once. I watched him as he walked along. I watched until he was no longer in my sight. The image of it all happening replays in my head. And the tears come harder. So many things are running through my mind. HOW COULD HE NOT KNOW WHO I AM?!!! The first thing that I thought. From then my happiness dissappeared. I just stood there. The man who I wanted to meet so bad, the man who I got my talent and creativeness from, the man who dressed just like me ! The man who NEVER played a role in my life. I saw him ! And he saw me. Only for him, it was like seeing another face in a crowd or another person on the streets. But I'm not just another person nor will I ever be. I'm his daughter. His seed. His blood. His creation. And for some time now I secretly looked up to him. Just knowing that he had the ability to be different and not care just like me made him almost seem like my idol. But now he was nothing to me. Not even my father.
